An event will be held Saturday, June 26th at the Barre Sportsmans Club to remember our friend Mike Grudzinskas of the I Smell Smoke!!! barbecue team.  There will be live music and bbq. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Peters Pond this weekend. Andy King of The Bastey Boys Barbecue Brigade will be instructing a barbecue cooking class on Saturday June 26 & Sunday June 27, 2010. The class will be held at Camp Collier, located on beautiful Lake Wampanoag in Gardner, Massachusetts.

This will be a two part cooking class. There will be a one-day, demo-style class on Saturday, which will cover advanced smoking and grilling techniques, as well as prepping, cooking and presentation for competition. Numerous types of grills and smokers will be demonstrated. Topics will include cooking times and temperatures, as well as fuels, including gas, charcoal and wood. Learn how to turn any grill into a smoker or oven. Learn about rubs, sauces, marinades, brines and injections. Learn simple modifications to improve the efficiency of many store-bought smokers. More individualized, hands-on instruction is available overnight Saturday as well as on Sunday.

King has been Pit Boss of The Bastey Boys since 1998 and the team has won more than 100 awards including numerous Grand Champions, 1st. 2nd & 3rd Place at Memphis in May, and more 1st Place finishes for Ribs than we can remember!
