August 6th: The Krazy Days Tailgate contest in Middleborough, MA was won by C.O.S. BBQ, with second going to Boo Boo Qued.
August 14th: The Best BBQ Chef KCBS contest in New London, CT saw Four Smoking Guys take the GC, and Rhode Hog BBQ was the RGC.
Bear’s Smokehouse New England BBQ Championships (Hartford, CT on Sept 3rd and 4th) and the Great Maine BBQ Challenge (Southwest Harbor Maine on Sept 9th-11th) are still looking for teams. Click on the links to check out the details.
NEBS has added a Junior-Q Contest to the Otter River Cookoff, on August 28, 2017 at the Otter River Sportsman’s Club in Templeton, MA.
Children aged 16 and under are welcome to enter. Entry fee is $10 per person and all entry fees will go back to the kids as prizes.
This will be a single category event, and the category will be Chicken.
Any meat of the chicken will be allowed including, but not limited to: Wings, Breast, Whole Legs, Thighs, Drumsticks, or any combination thereof. Organ meats or gizzards are NOT allowed.
The winner of this contest will receive a free admission to the 2017 World Junior BBQ Championship Cooking Contest in Lake Placid, NY. http://www.ilbbqf.com/
