2026 NEBS Backyard Cooking Class
Remember when you were first starting out, staring at a smoker, wondering if your rub was too salty, your wood choice was too heavy, or if your ribs would ever get that perfect bite-through?
We’re putting on a Backyard BBQ Cooking Class to help local enthusiasts up their game (and maybe sneakily inspire them to try competition BBQ down the road). But to make this class a true success, we need your expertise.
We are looking for experienced NEBS teams to come out, set up shop, and mentor these eager backyard cooks.
📅
The Details
Date: Saturday, July 11, 2026
Location: Trombly Gardens – Milford, NH
Mentor Arrival Time: 8:00 AM sharp
What the students are cooking: Chicken and Pork Ribs
What We Need From Our Mentor Teams:
We want to give these students a taste of the real deal, so we’re asking mentor teams to bring their usual setup:
Your Cooker(s): Show 'em how you tame the fire.
Pop-up Tent & Tables: To create your team's designated cooking site.
Your Wisdom: The most important ingredient. You'll be guiding them through prep, fire management, and timing.
🧂 Got Sponsors? Bring 'Em Out!
If you have a sponsor for charcoal, rubs, or sauces—or if you manufacture your own—this is a fantastic marketing opportunity. We encourage teams (who are able) to bring along their preferred fuel, rubs, and sauces to showcase during the class. It’s a great way to give your sponsors some love and show the students the gear that wins calls.
Why Volunteer?
Aside from the bragging rights and the good karma of paying it forward, it’s going to be a fun, relaxed day hanging out with fellow NEBS members, talking shop, and eating great food without the pressure of the turn-in clock.
