Calling all future Grill Masters!

Kids Cook – We all WIN!

Kid’s Que Entry Contest

Do your kids want to get in on BBQ competitions?
Do your kids already participate in Kid’s Que at some of the events?
Did you know that multiple of our NEBS events feature a Kid’s Que?

We want to help your kids take center stage! In the words of Guy Fieri, “Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.”

Judges at Brookline NH Cook-off were caught saying things like “WOW”, “those can’t be kid entries”, “that was amazing”….

Last year Ridgefield Gone Country – Ridgefield, CT; Annual Brookline Tailgate & BBQ / Grilling Cook-off – Brookline, NH; I Love BBQ & Music Festival – Lake Placid, NY; and Otter River BBQ Cook-off – Templeton, MA all offered a chance for the kids to take the stage. Available events (so far) are Brookline NH, Lake Placid NY, with Otter River MA pending…. Our sanctioning committee is also looking into a couple more opportunities with organizers.

We want to see your kids get involved. NEBS wants to see the promoting of BBQ go even further; let’s get more kids involved, let’s get the next generation of BBQ going in the early years.

Enter and “help” your kids enter to WIN the entry fee at a 2017 Kid’s Q Contest!

To enter –

Click here and fill out the survey form. Once completed, send your pictures to the email address stated on the form. Winners will be forwarded a photo release form to sign and return to NEBS.

Entry cut-off will be May 21st and winners will be announced around May 29th – winners will be a random drawing!

  • How long have you been a NEBS member?: 2011
  • How do you think you will be able to help NEBS as a director?: I believe my personal experience and resources can contribute to the overall NEBS mission. My resume includes service in many positions with multiple non-profit organizations. I have chaired and organized events as large as 200 booth trade shows in major convention centers. I am self employed and have the flexibility with my time to accomplish tasks during business hours.
  • Will you be able to attend the BOD meetings on a regular basis, actively participate in online discussions, and complete BOD assignments?: Yes
  • What has been your previous role in NEBS or barbecue in general?: I am the pit master of The Basic BBQ Team and with my wife have been competing in both NEBS & KCBS events since 2011. I currently serve as the Region 1 Coordinator for Operation BBQ Relief. I have active relationships with bbq teams and business owners across the country. I grew up & worked with a family that owned concession stands & restaurants in greater Boston.
  • Is there anything else you would like to share?: I believe NEBS should develop more oportuntities for cooks & certified judges to interact.

I believe NEBS should organize group purchases on items of interest to its members.

I believe the NEBS TOY & other awards should be given out at a NEBS event during the off season and not at contests.

I believe NEBS should develop more non contest events/activities for its members.

I believe NEBS should expand its ongoing outreach to the general public via media and other methods.
