The 2016 Otter River Tailgate Barbecue Contest will be a two-category barbecue cooking contest to determine Grand Champion. In addition to the NEBS Tailgate Contest, there will also be a People’s Choice Pulled Pork Contest on Sunday, August 25. People’s Choice rules are described at the end of this package.

Otter River Junior-Q Cooking Contest
NEBS has added a Junior-Q Contest to the Otter River Cookoff, on August 28, 2017 at the Otter River Sportsman’s Club in Templeton, MA.
Children aged 16 and under are welcome to enter. Entry fee is $10 per person and all entry fees will go back to the kids as prizes.
This will be a single category event, and the category will be Chicken.
Any meat of the chicken will be allowed including, but not limited to: Wings, Breast, Whole Legs, Thighs, Drumsticks, or any combination thereof. Organ meats or gizzards are NOT allowed.
The winner of this contest will receive a free admission to the 2017 World Junior BBQ Championship Cooking Contest in Lake Placid, NY. http://www.ilbbqf.com/

The Franklin County Rotary Club, Lefty’s Brewing Company and the Greenfield Recreation Department will be hosting their sixth annual Riverside Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival at Beacon Field in Greenfield, MA on October 8th & 9th, 2016. The multi-day festival features a New England Barbecue Society Grilling Contest, a Kansas City Barbeque Society Contest (Official State Championship), as well as Beer, Blues Music, vendors, and fun and exciting competitions. The event is officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society with professional BBQ teams competing.
