SUMMERFEST @ Camp Collier
Aug 6 – Aug 7 all-day

  It’s TIME!! Don’t miss out!!

NEBS SummerFest

The Northeast Barbecue Society is pleased to invite all of its members to the 9th Annual NEBS SummerFest!

SummerFest will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 6 & 7 at Camp Collier in Gardner, Massachusetts. Members and their guests may come and spend the day, or camp for the entire weekend. Camping will also be allowed on Friday night, August 5, starting at 5pm.

This is not a barbecue contest. This is an opportunity for all NEBS members to get together for a weekend of cooking, socializing, camping and sharing great food and great times with one another.

Located on beautiful Lake Wampanoag, Camp Collier is a former Boy Scout camp, complete with a large dining hall, lots of camping sites, and 600 acres of fields, forests, trails, and shorefront. The crystal-clear lake is teeming with bass, pickerel, perch, hornpout and more. Fishing is allowed with a valid Massachusetts fishing license.  The camp does charge a $5 boat launch fee if you’d like to bring your boat. In addition to cooking great food, other activities at SummerFest include kayaking and canoeing on the lake, hiking, swimming, blueberry picking and, of course, lots of great camaraderie.
Members who are familiar with competition cooking may bring their pits, canopies, etc. and set up as they would for a contest, if they so desire. Others may wish to travel lighter and simply bring their camping gear. There is plenty of room for camping, whether you want to stay with a large group, or venture off to a more secluded site.  There are bathhouses with showers at the camp, and RVs are allowed, but there is no dumping station and very limited electricity. Those who don’t like to camp may decide to come for the day, or stay at local hotels within 5 miles or so of the camp.
There’s never a shortage of good food at the NEBS SummerFest, but there’s always an abundance of good people to share it with you!
Admission is FREE for NEBS members and their families and
$10 per day for non-members.
(If you’ve let your membership lapse, this is a great time to spend time with friends and RENEW!)
All NEBS members are encouraged to come and enjoy this opportunity to mingle with other NEBS members, and share great food and great times.

We’d like to see you all there!
