About this event

The Miller's Crossing Annual BBQ Competition promises a fun-filled day for barbecue enthusiasts of all skill levels. Held in beautiful Cranston, Rhode Island, this event is a must-attend for any competitive BBQ team or food lover. With a range of categories and a vibrant community of cooks, this competition is more than just a chance to win – it’s a celebration of the art of grilling and smoking meats.

Event Details: This year’s competition will feature the NEBS Classic 4 Category cook-off, which includes:

  1. Chicken: Wild or farm-raised chicken, Cornish game hen, or kosher chicken in whole or parts.
  2. Ribs: Pork ribs of all types, including loin back, baby back, spare ribs, or St. Louis. Beef ribs or ribs from other animals are not permitted.
  3. Pork: Boston butt, picnic, and whole shoulders, weighing a minimum of 4 pounds, bone-in or boneless. Other cuts, like pork loin or chops, are excluded.
  4. Mystery: A surprise category, announced one week before the event, that allows for creativity in presentation and flavor.

Teams will be judged on Appearance, Taste, and Texture, with all entries carefully inspected to ensure they meet the rules. The Grand Champion will be crowned based on the overall performance across all categories. Teams should prepare to have a great time, whether they are competing or enjoying the atmosphere!

Registration: The entry fee for the competition is $25. To participate, submit your completed registration form along with payment by August 23, 2025. Space is limited, and teams must secure their spots in advance. Mail your application and check to:
