Judge of the Year (JOY) Qualifications
The following qualifications will be used to determine a member for Judge of the Year by the NEBS Board of Directors.
- The judge must be a member in good standing.
- The judge must have completed the NEBS judging class or be considered a valid NEBS judge.
- The judge must have been active within the previous year to be considered for the JOY award.
Criteria for determining the award:
- The judge must have participated at multiple NEBS events during the previous year. At those events, the judge will have served in multiple roles including judging, table captain, and as a volunteer.
- The Judge will show commitment & dedication to the role of a judge and strive to meet good judging practices while judging.
- The judge will demonstrate a willingness to assist newer judges on improving their judging skills.
- The judge will demonstrate good judging skills during each event.
JOY Award:
The winner of the JOY award will receive a plaque honoring them as the Judge of the Year along with 1 year of free membership to NEBS.
